Later she realizes she has left all her important belongings in the apartment, including money. She can’t go there again to bring her things, so she stands downstairs in the rain, drenching and crying.

Ridge sends Bridgette to bring Sydney to their apartment. In the apartment, Ridge, Warren, and Bridgette stay together, and they allow Sydney to stay temporarily in their place.

He also tells her that she can work as a songwriter for their music band, “Sounds of Cedar,” as Ridge’s brother was impressed by the lyrics of her song.

Within moving, Sydney discovers that Ridge is deaf. As days pass by, Ridge and Sydney’s bond grows stronger. They spend a lot of time together writing and singing songs. Ridge touches and holds Sydney in different places on her body to feel the vibrations of the song while she is singing.

One day they fell asleep while holding each other and were suddenly jolted awake by the knock on the door. Ridge, realizing it is Maggie, his girlfriend, hides Sydney in the bathroom. Sydney gets upset because he hid his relationship from her.

She gets jealous of Maggie but decides to maintain her distance from Ridge because she does not want to come in between their relationship. However, she finds it hard to do so. They both kiss each other during a music session.
